International 505 Class Yacht Racing Association
Ballot
The following proposal by the IEC was approved unanimously at the 1999 AGM in Quiberon. As it represents a change to the constitution, our rules require the change to be ratified by a postal ballot. Please complete the ballot paper below and return to either your National Secretary or to myself. If replying by e-mail please make sure that you type all the information in the body of the text. Please do not send as an attached document.
This ballot is open to all Members.
Proposal:
Delete existing Class Rule A 7.2 and replace with:
"A National Association shall nominate candidates for election in writing. Such nominations shall be received by the International Secretary not less than one calendar month before the published date of the AGM in the year of election."
Reason for Proposal:
The existing rule requires nominations to be made by 31 July, regardless of the date of the AGM. Whilst the AGM does not elect officers in the event of there being more than one candidate, it is considered desirable that the identity of the officers, or candidates for election, for the forthcoming year should be known in advance of the AGM, regardless of when this held.
