I am pleased to confirm that the 2001 World championship will be held at Clube Naval de Cascais, Nr Lisbon in Portugal from 19 to 28 September inclusive. There will be a practice series on 19 and 20, measurement on 21 then the Worlds proper from 22 to 28 inclusive. The formal NoR will be published this autumn.
The venue is half an hour's drive from Lisbon (international airport and container port) and racing will be on the open Atlantic with sheltered launching down a wide concrete slip into a marina before hitting the open sea. The Clube has hosted major championships for Lasers, Dragons, 470's and 49ers in recent years. More later.
