Video
Digby Fox and cameraman Paul Bennet were shooting video during the last four days of the World Championship. The result should be 12-15 minutes of coverage on the Sky television network, broadcast in February. The 505 class will receive a few copies of the video. We have asked Digby if he can give us a longer version, using more of the video footage he and Paul shot. While details have yet to be worked out, copies of the video will be available. Details, costs, etc. are yet to be determined. We will post this information on this web site as soon as we have it.
505 World Champions
The International 505 Class has held a world championship every year starting in 1956. A complete list of world champion winners is at http://www.int505.org/champs.htm. Krister Bergstrom of Sweden has won five times, with three different crews (Olle Wenrup and P. Anders Hallberg each won twice with Krister). Peter Colclough of England has won four times, with three different crews (P. Brown won twice with Peter). Chris and Darren Nicholson have now won three times, always racing together. The only other brothers to win the 505 world championship are D. Farrant/R. Farrant, who won in 1965 and 1971, and Pajot brothers who won once in 1974.
