1. RULES
The regatta will be governed by the International Yacht Racing Rules, the Prescriptions and Safety Regulations of the Australian Yachting Federation and the Rules of the International 505 Class (except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions) and by the sailing instructions.
2. ADVERTISING
The regatta is classified as a Category B Event in accordance with Appendix A3 and the prescriptions of the Australian Yachting Federation.
3. ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY
The regatta is open to yachts of the International 505 class that meet the eligibility requirements of the International 505 Class Yacht Racing Association Class Rules and Appendix A1 of the IYRU Rules
Eligible yachts may enter on the attached entry form which must be lodged with the International 505 Association North Queensland Fleet No. 17 by 1st January 1996 accompanied by the required fee.
The number of entries will be restricted as prescribed by the International 505 class rules.
4. FEES
The required fees will be: -
Australian Championships
For entries lodged prior to 1st January AUS$ 150.00
Late entries AUS$ 180.00
World Championships
Entries Lodged prior to 1st January 1996
For entries displaying advertising AUS$ 600.00
All other entries AUS$ 300.00
Entries lodged after 1st January 1996
For entries displaying advertising AUS$ 660.00
All other entries AUS$ 330.00

6. MEASUREMENTS
Each Yacht shall submit a valid measurement certificate and in addition random measurements may be taken at the discretion of the measurer.
7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available on registration and will be posted to competitors who have paid all entry fees or available from the regatta office.
8. REGATTA SITE
The regatta site will be as shown in illustration "a" attached.
9. RACING AREA
The racing area will be as shown in illustration "b" attached.
10. COURSES
The courses shall be as described in the sailing instructions.
11. SCORING
The bonus points scoring system, Appendix B2.1 of the Racing Rules, will apply.
12. ALTERNATIVE PENALTIES
The 720 degree turns penalty, Appendix B1 of the Racing Rules, will apply.
13. DECISIONS OF THE JURY
Decisions of the jury will be final in accordance with Racing Rule 1.5(a).
14. PRIZES
Prizes for the Australian Championships will be presented on the evening of Tuesday 9th April 1996. Prizes for the World Championships will be presented on the evening of Thursday 18th April 1996.

All those taking part in this eries of races, do so at their own risk and responsibility. Neither the Organising Committee nor the Race Committee is responsible for the seaworthiness of a yacht whose entry is accepted or the sufficiency or adequacy of its equipment. The right is reserved to refuse any entry and attention is drawn to fundamental Rule "b" which states - "it shall be the sole responsibility of each yacht to decide whether or not to continue to race".
