(My apologies to anyone I might have missed.)

Very briefly, a summary of issues discussed:
- 1999 Canadian Championships: In keeping with tradition, these should be held west of the Ontario border. We're looking for a club/fleet to host these. Any volunteers?
- Newsletters, etc: It was agreed in general terms that e-mail and the Internet have greatly reduced the need for newsletters to be sent by snail mail, but that certain printed material was still required to reach people who might not be connected or might not otherwise receive information electronically. No decision yet on whether to start a new Canadian 505 e-mail list and web page, or use the existing 505 World list and North American page. Would like feedback on how many Canadian 505 sailors are NOT subscribers to the 505World e-mail list.
- Promotion of Class: More should be done to promote the class and get new people in to the fleet. A motion was passed that the new executive prepare a business plan as to how to address this. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, but bottom line is expect limited funds to be available from the class to assist in marketing/promoting the fleet.
There are certainly a lot of other issues which your executive will be
addressing, and if you have anything you'd like to raise, please forward it to any or all of those above. (Please do not simply reply to the 505 World list, unless it is truly of widespread interest, and if so, use a descriptive subject.)
Many thanks to the old executive and looking forward to working for you in the year to come.
Hugh, Cynthia, Chris, Debbie & Mike
