We race TESOD at SSA, every Tuesday evening during the spring and summer, and take anyone interested in 505s out for short course racing at TESOD. For the 2006 season we are organizing multiple coaching/training session using weekends in March and April, and shifting to Thursday evenings from May on. Check out the Severn River cam to see what the water looks like right now.
Check Weather Net 4 Winds and Thomas Point light sites for current and past wind, temperature, marine weather forecast, etcetera data.

We have lots of events, both sailing and social.
Both and directions to WRSC are available from their respective web sites. Mapquest may be more useful to you once you pick up the appropriate club's address from their web site.
We have a 505fleet 19 e-mail listserver. This is not a particularly busy listserver. Postings are frequently on topics such as: looking for someone to sail with on a given day or event, announcements of sailing or social events, short event reports, organizing double-trailers for distant events and similar. To join, go to http://list.sailingsource.com/mailman/listinfo/505fleet19 fill in the form and click on the submit button.
Some of our recent fleet 19 newsletters are available online.
Tidewater VA is what the area at the Southern end of the Chesapeake Bay is called. Most area 505 sailors keep their boats at the Hampton Yacht Club, host each year of the Hampton Trapeze and Hampton Annual regattas.
Every third year or so, the Hampton fleet hosts the East Coast Championships as well.
Being only 2.5 hours from Annapolis, a friendly rivalry has grown between the two main fleets in Region II.
Hampton fleet stalwarts include: Henry, Barb and Doug Amthor, Greg Schuster, Tyler Moore, Steve Sparkman, Clayton James, Gary Bodie, and Kevin Eley.
The Florida fleet has hosted a 505 Midwinter Championship almost as long as the 505 has been in existence. Traditionally, this event was organized by long time 505 sailors John McNeil and the Haberlands, and held at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club in Melbourne, on the inland waterway near the Atlantic - sometimes you can catch a shuttle launch while you're there! In 1995, the 505 Midwinter championship was held in conjunction with the Flying Dutchman and OD14 classes, in St. Petersburg Florida, on the gulf side. The midwinters have remained in St. Petersburg since then, and more recently moved to March for better chances of breeze. There are 505s in Melbourne, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Miami, Pensacola, and (recently) Key West.
Ethan Bixby, 1981 505 World Champion, owns North Sails Gulf Coast in St. Petersburg, and is working to get more active 505s in the St. Petersburg area. His latest recruits are Lyn Robson/Serg Jorgenson, top Flying Dutchman competitors who just bought a new carbon pre-peg Van Munster 505, and Garth Reynolds who bought Lindsay 7093, the boat that won the 1981 and 1982 World Championships.
