71 Boats came to the riviera for the first Europa Cup event of 2010. A special mention should be granted to the teams of Finland or Northern Germany who drove a long way across Europe to take part to the regatta.

Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Italy and France teams were on the starting line for these 3 days of thrilling racing on the Mediterranean sea. Cannes is not welcoming cinema stars but Europe 5o5 stars...

Friday

The famous Mistral is on the Croisette, blowing in the mid 20 kn.

The race comitee set the race course on the east side, the protected one but the conditions are rude.

Boite/Toupet claim the first race, Smith/Needham the second one. They turned up first after the first day thanks to their second place in the first race.

The wind has risen and 30kn of average was recorded on the race comitte boat during the second race...

Saturday

It's the opposite of the previous day. Crews are waiting in the yacht club that the rain stops and the wind blows.

Finally, 3 races will be done in 5 to 10 kn of wind. The Swiss Peterman/Grob took the first one, Görge/Görge the second one and Martin/Lafortune the final one.

Görge/Gorge were always ahead and they managed to take the lead, Boite/toupet are 5 points behind...

Sunday

First race is done in a rising wind from 5 kn at the start to 13 kn on the finish line. Finland teams showed that they did not cross Europe to watch the others and did a really good racing, Nieminen/Laurila finishing first.

The race comitte tried to launched a second and final race but they had to cancel it in the middle of the first beat, the wind being totaly absent after the shower.

Finally, Martin and Rainer Görge won this Europa Cup followed by Boite/Toupet and Pinnell/Mitchell.

All kind of wind, from the very light breeze to the heavy wind were encountered during this championship and polyvalent team made it to the top!
