Jörgen and Jacob Bojsen-Möller, Denmark showed that they still have a lot to give in the 505 class. After the first day, they and Jan Saugman/Jakob Karbo, Denmark had one victory each. Day two became a six race day! Bojsen-Möller was on their toes and won 4 races, Saugman/Karbo and Jari Hamström/Tuomas Laurila; Finland won one each. The last day Saugman/Karbo took some revenge by winning three races, but since Bojsen-Möller won one, the over all victory was theirs. Saugman/Karbon came second over all. Behind these two giants, there was a fight for the third place between four boats, the two Finnish teams, the Swedes Lars and Axel Hultgren and Jon Möller Andersen/Henrik Buhl, Denmark. Kaj Lindfors/Antti Salonen was sailing best and won the bronze medal. Hamström/Laurila ended up fourth, Hultgrens fifth and Andersen/Buhl sixth.
Last weekend, the Nordic Championships (which also was the Danish nationals) were sailed in Sönderborg, Denmark. Beutiful weather and winds ranging from 3-8 m/s made it a very agreeable regatta. Sönderborg is a very nice place with god facilities and a skilled race managers. It will be a perfect venue for the Europeans in 2019.
