In a gruelling 11 races over 3 days of shifty, gusty 15-25 knot breezes, Quirk (AUS) and Jess GER) narrowly won  a tight contest for the win in the 3rd leg of the 2018 5o5 Euro Cup series held as part of the Kiel Week regatta in Northern Germany.

Going into the last of the 11 races any of the top 5 boats could win. The regatta was a tight battle between Quirk & Jess, Stephan Kochlin (GER) and Andreas Achterberg, Phillipe Boite (FRA) and Mathieu Fountaine and the great Wolfgang Hunger (GER) & Julien Kleiner.

Ultimately Quirk & Jess seemed to have a boat speed advantage and their 2nd place in the last race secured the title.

The final leg of the 4 leg Euro Cup Series will be held at Hayling Island (UK) in September.
